greetings from spain!

traveling yesterday went well. i was overcome with a sense of relief when the plane took off from germany. i flew from hannover to palma de mallorca to bilbao. mallorca was beautiful! my direction of landing and take off allowed me to see most of the island. the water was deep blue. it was stunning from above. along the northern side of the island there are great mountains. the mountains create a steep dropoff to the water below. the flight to bilbao was very quick. we flew over barcelona. unfortunately i was on the wrong side of the plane, or we were too far west to see the familiar city plan. when i landed in bilbao i had two of my three wonderful hosts waiting for me. the airport and baggage claim reminded me of two years ago. (we sat in the baggage claim for quite sometime during my first experience at the airport.) then we took the bus into the city. the apartment is very close to the guggenheim, right in the center of the city. after dropping my stuff off at the apartment, we went to an outdoor bar next to the museum. there was live music. it was a good time. i also found an awesome playground. next on my agenda, wandering around the city and starting to look for a job!
